Experience and Achievements
Carol S. Cribbs was selected as the acting chief financial officer in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer on Jan. 21, 2025. Previously, Cribbs served as the deputy chief financial officer in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer since Sept. 28, 2020, a role she was acting in since March 14, 2020.
Cribbs has over 30 years of federal service providing executive, managerial and subject matter expertise in congressional committees, program and project management, funding, budgeting and operations. Cribbs joined DHS in 2014 in the Science and Technology Directorate serving in a number of positions overseeing finance, information technology, privacy, compliance assurance, human resources, facilities and security before joining USCIS in 2020.
Before joining DHS, Cribbs served for 10 years with the Senate Appropriations Committee overseeing funding and operations of various components of DHS, including USCIS, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Chief Information Officer, U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, and Science & Technology. Before the Senate Appropriations Committee, she worked for the U.S. Department of Justice overseeing budget execution and formulation of various components, including the Immigration and Naturalization Service.
Education
Cribbs earned her Bachelor of Arts in Soviet and East European Studies from Syracuse University. She has a Master of Public Administration from the George Washington University.
