My child lives overseas with me
- If your child lives with you overseas, and they are not yet 18 years old, then
- You may file N-600K, Application for Citizenship and Issuance of Certificate under Section 322 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, for a Certificate of Citizenship with any USCIS office in the United States. Under this law, you (the citizen parent) and your child will be scheduled for an interview in the United States. Your child will acquire U.S. citizenship after this interview if we approve the application.
- Note: Your child must still be under 18 years old when we approve the application and your child acquires U.S. citizenship.
- Please see the instructions for the Form N-600K for detailed information on how to establish if your child is eligible for citizenship with this form.
- You can find information regarding USCIS filing fees by visiting our Fee Schedule page. Fee exemptions for adoptees are available for Form N-600K.
