USCIS Launches Optional Forms Checklists for Forms I-129F and I-765
On May 9, USCIS launched a pilot study that offers customers optional checklists to assist in the submission of form packages. The checklists are designed to help customers easily identify what documents they need to include when they initially file an application or petition, and to remind them of the important items needed to complete the form, such as including a signature.
The pilot study includes checklists for Forms I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e), and I-765, Application for Employment Authorization —specific to applicants who have filed for adjustment of status (8 CFR 274a.12 (c)(9)). We will use the results of the study to determine whether we expand the availability of optional checklists for other USCIS forms where a checklist is not currently available. While the checklists are meant to assist customers, the lists do not replace or change the form instructions and statutory or regulatory requirements.
