Use this form to apply for initial NM-1, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) long-term resident status. You must file this form with your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.
Please refer to the Form I-955 instructions to determine whether you should use this form. CNMI long-term resident status is not the same thing as lawful permanent residence and does not lead to lawful permanent resident status.
