Does My Index Search Request Qualify?
I Can Identify . . .
An immigrant born more than 100 years ago (or I can provide proof of death for the immigrant);
The immigrant’s Name, along with any alternate spellings or aliases;
The immigrant’s Date of Birth, either exactly or with an approximate year;
The immigrant's Place of Birth, either exactly (town or region) or with a country name (USCIS staff track changes in country names and borders across time; the historic or current names of a country will suffices).
If you can provide all of the biographical information above, your Index Search Request qualifies.
Providing the additional information below will improve the quality of your search results:
Where the immigrant lived in the United States;
When the immigrant died? (or give an approximate death date); and
Family members who may appear on the immigrant’s record and can be used to make a positive match.
