New Rule for STEM OPT
DHS published the Improving and Expanding Training Opportunities for F-1 Nonimmigrant Students with Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Degrees and Cap-Gap Relief for All Eligible F-1 Students final rule. This rule replaces the existing 2008 STEM optional practical training (OPT) interim final rule and is effective May 10, 2016. Read the ICE News Release for specific rule provisions.
