Latest Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification
On September 13, 2017, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Customer Service and Public Engagement Directorate (CSPED), and the Immigration Records and Identity Services Directorate (IRIS), Verification Division hosted a teleconferences on the revised Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, with the revision date 07/17/17 N. Effective September 18, 2017, employers must use the revised Form I-9 to verify the identity and work eligibility of their new employee.
During this engagement, Verification Division representatives presented a high-level overview of the enhancements made to the revised form, highlighted resources available to both employers and employees, and responded to stakeholder questions.
