How to Reset My Password

1. Go to myaccount.uscis.gov and click Forgot your Password? link.

2. Enter your Primary Email and click the Email Reset Instructions button. The system will send you an email with a link to your personal Password Reset Questions.

PLEASE NOTE: You must enter the Primary Email address you used to create your USCIS online account.

3. Within a few minutes, you should receive an email from MyAccount@uscis.dhs.gov. Click on the link in the email. *** If you do not receive our email, check your spam or junk folder.
4. You will see an image like what is shown on the right. Enter your password reset answers exactly as you entered them when you created your USCIS online account.
5. If you can answer the questions correctly, you will be prompted to create a new password.

If you can’t remember your password reset answers, send us a message using this link: my.uscis.gov/account/v1/needhelp.

After filling out a short form you will see a drop-down menu of technical support options. Please select “I need help with resetting my password." Then click “Send Message.”

Our Technical Help Desk will email you, usually within 10 business days, with instructions for resetting your password.
